Akhtar Khushi
Director
Akhtar qualified as a solicitor in 1997. Since qualifying, he worked at Quist Solicitors in Mayfair, London. In 2003, he set up Bedfords Solicitors with Khuram Liaquat. He is the Head of Criminal Law and has a thriving practice. He also has over two decades of experience in Immigration & Asylum law. He is an astute advocate before the Immigration & Asylum Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal. He led and co-led a number of early cases before the SIAC.
Akhtar co-led the following reported Immigration cases:
- Cudjoe (Proxy Marriages; burden of proof) (2016) UKUT 00180(IAC)
- Buama (inter-country adoption-competent court) {2012] UKUT00146 (IAC) (as well as co-leading the case, he appeared as Advocate at the Final Hearing)

Hussein Dookhun
Supervising Senior Solicitor
Hussein completed his training contract at Bedfords Solicitors. Upon qualifying as a solicitor in 2009, he continued to work at Bedfords Solicitors. He worked his way up the Immigration & Asylum accreditation scheme throughout 2009 to 2012 and qualified as a supervising senior solicitor. In the years since he has remained focused on immigration, asylum and nationality work. Drawing on his strong cultural awareness, he is especially respected by clients from West African, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern backgrounds, and provides guidance to clients from all demographics.

Alishma Saeed
Paralegal
Alishma completed her Bar Vocational Course in 2025 and joined us shortly thereafter. She also attained an LLM in Alternate Dispute Resolution in the same year.
She brings excellent research, drafting and client-handling skills, combined with a clear understanding of court processes and case preparation. Alishma is committed to assisting clients from all walks of life in a collaborative team environment. She has a particular focus on women’s and children’s rights.
